Based Design and Analysis of Adjustable Desk Lamp
This section presents the decomposition of the adjustable desk lamp into its fundamental components. Each part of the lamp has been individually analyzed in terms of its geometry, function, and role within the overall assembly.
The purpose of this approach is to better understand how each component contributes to the lamp’s mobility, stability, and functionality. By separating the system into smaller parts, the design process becomes more manageable and allows for precise modeling in a CAD environment such as Onshape.
Key components include the base, arms, joints, springs, and lamp head. Each of these elements plays a critical role in enabling the lamp’s adjustability and structural integrity. The analysis also considers how these parts interact during motion and how they are assembled to form a complete working mechanism.
This component-based strategy not only simplifies the modeling process but also reflects real-world engineering practices, where complex systems are designed and evaluated as interconnected subsystems.
